Guitar Course
Build a Solid Foundation on Guitar
This guitar course is designed to take learners through the instrument in a structured progression, starting with basic guitar knowledge and moving toward chord playing, lead techniques, improvisation and creative musicianship. With 9 years of teaching experience in guitar, Yashvardhan Anand teaches the course in Hindi and English through online classes.
The 36-hour program is suitable for learners who want to understand the instrument rather than simply memorize a few songs. Students work on technique, rhythm, chords, scales, music theory and practical playing. The course is available on weekdays and weekends, making it suitable for different learning schedules.
Getting Comfortable with the Instrument
The early lessons focus on becoming familiar with the guitar. Students learn about its parts, strings, frets, notes and octaves, along with correct posture and hand positioning. Tuning and basic maintenance are also introduced so learners can handle the instrument properly.
Finger exercises help develop coordination between the hands. Picking, strumming and simple rhythm exercises provide the technical base needed for later lessons.
Chords, Rhythm and Musical Structure
Chord knowledge is an important part of guitar playing. Learners explore open chords, major and minor chords, seventh chords and barre chords. Chord transitions are practiced gradually so that changes become more controlled and rhythmically consistent.
Common chord progressions are introduced alongside practical song playing. This helps students understand how individual chords work together within a musical arrangement.
Understanding Guitar Theory
Music theory is integrated with practical guitar work. Students learn about musical notes, intervals, scales, keys and key signatures, as well as chord construction, beats and time signatures. Understanding these concepts can make it easier to interpret songs and create original musical ideas.
Moving from Chords to Lead Playing
Once the basic foundation is established, learners begin exploring scales and lead guitar. Major, minor, pentatonic and blues scales form part of the course. Students also learn how scales connect across the fretboard.
Basic improvisation introduces the idea of creating musical phrases rather than only reproducing prepared material. Melody exercises, guitar tabs and basic notation provide additional ways to understand and communicate music.
Developing Expression and Performance Skills
The course introduces techniques such as hammer-ons, pull-offs, slides, bends and vibrato. These techniques help learners add expression to melodies and solos.
Song learning is approached through different musical genres, backing tracks and rhythm or lead guitar parts. Students also work on performance preparation and confidence while playing.
Exploring Intermediate and Advanced Techniques
For learners progressing beyond the basics, the program covers barre chord mastery, advanced chord voicings, arpeggios, fingerstyle playing, advanced strumming and improvisation. These topics provide opportunities to develop greater control and musical variety.
Creative development is another part of the learning path. Students explore songwriting basics, chord progression creation, ear training and playing by ear. The focus gradually shifts from following instructions to making independent musical choices.
A Practical Learning Path for Different Levels
The course can support beginners building their first guitar skills as well as learners who already understand basic chords and want to improve technique, theory or improvisation. One-to-one learning can allow lessons to concentrate on areas where a learner needs more practice.
By the end of the course, students work toward a stronger foundation in guitar playing and music theory, with practical experience in chords, songs, rhythm, melodies, improvisation and creative playing.
