Tally Prime Learning with Ayyub Bagwan

Building a Strong Foundation in Accounting and Tally Prime

Tally Prime combines accounting concepts with practical software-based business operations. Learning the software effectively requires more than knowing where to click. Students also need to understand accounting principles, transaction types, ledgers, vouchers, reports, taxation, inventory, and the relationship between different financial records.

Ayyub Bagwan's Tally Prime course covers these areas progressively, beginning with basic accounting terminology and moving toward practical use of Tally Prime. The course has 5 years of subject-specific teaching experience behind it and is available in Marathi, Hindi, and English.

The learning path starts with the fundamentals of accounting. Students are introduced to the objectives and basics of Tally, accounting terminology, the double-entry system, types of accounts, and the traditional golden rules of accounting. These concepts provide the background needed to understand how transactions are recorded and reflected in financial reports.

From Journal Entries to Financial Statements

A clear understanding of accounting records is essential before working extensively with accounting software. The course therefore covers journals, ledgers, trial balance, profit and loss accounts, and balance sheets.

Students learn how journal entries are created and how information moves through the accounting cycle. Ledger preparation and trial balance concepts help connect individual transactions with broader financial records. The course also explains how profit and loss accounts and balance sheets are prepared and interpreted.

Understanding the Accounting Cycle

The accounting portion includes:

Double-entry bookkeeping
Types of accounts
Golden rules of accounting
Journal entries

Company features and configurations are covered through F11 and F12 settings. Learners also study company-related operations, ledger creation, ledger groups, and different ledger operations within Tally Prime.

Choosing the correct voucher is another important part of practical accounting. The course covers receipt, payment, contra, purchase, sales, purchase return, sales return, and journal vouchers.

Developing Practical Skills in Inventory Management

Tally Prime is also used for managing stock and inventory records. The course introduces inventory concepts and explains how to create and manage stock-related components.

Students learn about stock groups, stock units, and stock items, followed by practical topics such as day book, stock summary, godowns, and manufacturing operations. Bills of Materials (BOM), cost centers, price lists, and purchase and sales pricing are also included.

GST is an important part of accounting work in India, and the course introduces learners to GST concepts and their use within Tally Prime.

Students learn what GST is, understand its applicable slabs, and study how GST is enabled in Tally Prime. The course also addresses intra-state and inter-state transactions, including the use of CGST, SGST, and IGST.

Bank reconciliation is also included, allowing learners to understand how accounting records can be compared with bank transaction information.

A Structured Learning Approach for Commerce and Accounting Students

The course is suitable for learners who want to develop their understanding of accountancy and Tally Prime together. It can be useful for students of commerce, beginners learning accounting software, and learners who want structured exposure to common Tally Prime functions.

The teaching language can be selected from Marathi, Hindi, or English. This allows accounting terminology and software operations to be discussed in a language the learner is comfortable with while retaining important technical terms used in Tally Prime and accountancy.

With one-hour weekend sessions, learners can work through the course in a structured manner. The online and offline class formats also provide flexibility in how the lessons are attended.

Turning Accounting Concepts into Software Skills

Learning Tally Prime effectively involves understanding the connection between accounting theory and software operations. For example, knowing the purpose of a ledger makes it easier to understand ledger creation and grouping in Tally Prime. Similarly, understanding purchase and sales transactions provides context for selecting the appropriate voucher.

By progressing from accounting basics to company setup, vouchers, inventory, GST, banking, reports, and data management, the course provides a broad learning path for Tally Prime.

The overall curriculum contains both conceptual and software-oriented topics, allowing learners to develop knowledge of accounting processes alongside practical familiarity with Tally Prime.
