The basic concepts of fabric preparation and cutting provide a foundation for progressing toward more detailed garment designs.

Women’s Dress Making and Tailoring

A major part of the course focuses on making different types of women’s clothing. Students can learn the process of making:

Women’s dresses
Women’s shirts
Kurtis
Simple dresses
Different dress styles and designs

The lessons explain the process step by step, from measurements and pattern preparation to cutting, stitching, and finishing.

Pattern Making and Fabric Cutting

Pattern making is an important skill in dress designing and tailoring. Students learn how to create and use basic patterns according to measurements and garment requirements.

The course also covers fabric cutting techniques, helping learners understand how patterns are transferred onto fabric and how fabric pieces should be prepared before stitching.

Stitching and Sewing Techniques

Students develop practical sewing and stitching skills through guided garment-making exercises. The course introduces techniques needed to join fabric pieces and gradually work toward complete garments.

Learners can practice stitching different sections of a garment while understanding how each piece contributes to the final design. The emphasis is on practical learning so that students can build confidence through repeated practice.

Neck, Sleeve and Dress Finishing

Garment finishing plays an important role in the overall appearance of a dress. Students learn about neck finishing, sleeve preparation, and dress finishing techniques.

Different design approaches can be introduced to help learners understand how small changes in garment details can create different styles. Proper finishing also helps learners produce cleaner and more structured garments.

Kids’ Dress Making

The course also introduces kids’ clothes making, allowing learners to apply basic tailoring and stitching skills to children’s garments.

Students can learn how measurements, patterns, fabric cutting, stitching, and finishing are adapted when creating kids’ clothing. Practical exercises help learners understand the complete process of making simple children’s garments.

Learning Different Dress Designs

Fashion designing involves understanding how basic garment structures can be adapted into different styles. Students explore different dress designs and styles while learning how to approach each garment systematically.

The course encourages learners to understand the construction process rather than simply copying a finished design. This helps them gradually develop practical garment-making skills.
