​कोर्स 'बी' के लिए एनसीईआरटी (NCERT) की दो पुस्तकें निर्धारित हैं:

​स्पर्श (भाग-2)

• ​पद्य खंड (कविताएँ): कबीर की साखी, मीरा के पद, पर्वत प्रदेश में पावस, तोप, मनुष्यता, कर चले हम फ़िदा, आत्मत्राण।

• ​गद्य खंड (कहानियाँ/लेख): बड़े भाई साहब, डायरी का एक पन्ना, तताँरा-वामीरो कथा, तीसरी कसम के शिल्पकार शैलेंद्र, अब कहाँ दूसरे के दुख से दुखी होने वाले, पतझड़ में टूटी पत्तियाँ (गिन्नी का सोना), कारतूस।

​संचयन (भाग-2)

​इसमें केवल कहानियाँ होती हैं जिनसे पूरक प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं:

​2. व्याकरण (Grammar)

​व्याकरण खंड में वस्तुपरक (Objective) प्रश्न पूछे जाते हैं। मुख्य विषय ये हैं:

1. ​पदबंध: (संज्ञा, सर्वनाम, विशेषण, क्रिया और क्रियाविशेषण पदबंध)

2. ​रचना के आधार पर वाक्य रूपांतरण: (सरल, संयुक्त और मिश्र वाक्य)

3. ​समास: (अव्ययीभाव, तत्पुरुष, कर्मधारय, द्विगु, बहुव्रीहि और द्वंद्व)

4. ​मुहावरे: (वाक्य प्रयोग और अर्थ - केवल पाठ्यपुस्तक के आधार पर)

​3. रचनात्मक लेखन (Writing Skills)

​यह खंड आपकी लेखन क्षमता और कल्पनाशीलता को जाँचता है:

• ​अनुच्छेद लेखन: दिए गए संकेतों के आधार पर किसी एक विषय पर (लगभग 100-120 शब्द)।

• ​पत्र लेखन: औपचारिक पत्र (Formal Letter)।

• ​सूचना लेखन: (Notice Writing) - औपचारिक सूचनाएँ।

• ​विज्ञापन लेखन: (Advertisement Writing) - किसी वस्तु या सेवा के लिए।

• ​लघु कथा लेखन या ई-मेल लेखन: (दोनों में से कोई एक विकल्प)।

​4. अपठित बोध (Reading Comprehension)

• ​अपठित गद्यांश: अनपढ़ पैराग्राफ से बहुविकल्पीय प्रश्न (MCQs)। इसमें आपकी समझ और निष्कर्ष निकालने की क्षमता देखी जाती है।
